About the role
This senior-level role involves performing ultrasound procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring adherence to radiological standards and safety protocols. The technologist independently conducts imaging, verifies procedures, provides patient instructions, and maintains equipment quality. They work collaboratively across departments, train students and staff, and manage supply inventories. The role requires broad operational knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations following established protocols
- Verify patient details and procedures accurately
- Ensure safety for patients and staff during procedures
- Provide clear patient instructions and communicate effectively
- Participate in ongoing education and equipment quality control
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Assist in training students and technologists
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiology or related field
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Four years of ultrasound technologist experience
- Basic Life Support Certification
