Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for conducting high-quality and cost-effective diagnostic procedures, assisting physicians and medical staff during procedures, providing excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, family members, physicians, medical staff, and colleagues, attending in-services, annual reviews, and educational programs, and staying knowledgeable about radiological examination procedures, equipment, and relevant changes in the field.Job Functions
- Performs high quality/cost effective diagnostic procedures. - Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required. - Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner. - Communicate effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, medical staff, and NMMC staff members. - Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs. - Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations. - Stay abreast of changes in Radiology. - Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. - Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes. - Organize work flow to prevent delays and control cost through appropriate use of supplies. - All other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound Technology.Licenses and Certifications
- ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. - Licensed Radiologic Technologist (MRT). - CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (AHA).Work Experience

- Ability to work independently to assure quality. - Good written and verbal communication. - Serves patient population categories of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. - Organize work flow to prevent patient delays. - Work well with ordering Physicians to assure accurate information provided. - Assist fellow team members as needed to provide high quality patient care. - Perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times. - Detailed oriented. - Must have extensive contact with: Physicians, co-workers, patients/family members. - Must have good written and verbal communication skills. - Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve. - Ability to work well under pressure while providing a high level of care.Physical Demands
