Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all technical aspects of the exam.
- Must be able to independently operate ultrasound equipment to produce and process images.
- Must be familiar with emergency equipment and supplies within the department and respond/document/report emergencies.
- Maintain clean work area and adhere to infection control standards.
- Organize work schedule on a daily basis, assist in maintaining inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Communicate with reception staff to minimize waiting to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate, cooperate and communicate with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Report equipment malfunctions to Director.
- Initiate/document service calls for equipment.
- Supervise and document quality control and assurance.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Provide on-call coverage and/or work various shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited program in Sonography.
- Registered or registry eligible in the fields of Abdomen, Physics or Cardiac sonography.
- Maintains CEU credits.
