About the Role
Performs diagnostic medical sonograms following professional standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review consultation requests, check for special instructions, and consult with Radiologists as needed.
- Complete documentation and results for exams.
- Greet patients, confirm identification, explain procedures, and demonstrate equipment knowledge.
- Perform routine ultrasound procedures and assist with US-guided biopsies/drainages.
- Verify patient consent and evaluate lab values to ensure exam prerequisites are met.
- Manage supplies, conduct safety inspections, and perform quality assurance tests.
- Evaluate scan quality, demonstrate anatomy correctly, and maintain departmental standards.
- Add on exams when possible, verify order entry, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Follow safety protocols, recognize emergencies, and administer first aid or CPR if necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of hospital experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations.
- Provide customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records.
Qualifications
- ARDMS-RDMS certification.
- BLS certification.
- Associate's Degree in a related field.
Pay
USD $31.83 to $49.34 per hour.
