About the role
Staff Ultrasound Technologist must:
- Have an associate degree in sonography, from an institution accredited by The CAAHEP, that prepares students to sit for the certification exam.
Responsibilities
Duties:
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
- Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention
- Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
- Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
- Schedule outpatient procedures for Radiology
- Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members
- Take Call for emergency procedures after working hours
Requirements
Able to perform x-ray and Ct procedures
- Ultrasound technologist at SSCH needs to be:
- ARRT Registered
- A Mississippi license to practice radiography.
- A graduate with associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology from an accredited 2 year or 4 year college.
