Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of designated portions of the human anatomy of adult and geriatric patients.
Requirements
- Certified or eligible for certification by:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), OR
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S), OR
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
All sonographers must obtain certification within twenty-four months of eligibility or cross training.
- Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Compliance with ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI continuing education requirements appropriate to their practice
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology (preferred)
- For specialty areas:
- Cardiology: Registered Cardiovascular Technologist with two (2) years cardiac related experience
- Vascular: Registered Vascular Technologist with two (2) years vascular related experience
- OB/GYN: Registered OB/GYN Technologist with at least two (2) years of OB/GYN related experience
