Responsibilities
- Provide Sonographic examinations for diagnostic interpretation.
- Exercise professional judgement in performing procedures while adhering to principles of radiation protection.
- Perform diagnostic medical sonography within the assigned unit and other areas.
- Maintain patient records and files.
- Assume responsibility for the department's quality assurance program.
- Pursue continuing education.
- Transfer patients between departments.
- Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.
- Rotate shifts as required.
- Perform ancillary duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Follow policies and procedures established by SEARHC Administration.
- Absorb general hygiene of the department and maintain personal hygiene.
- Work effectively under stress and be willing to learn additional imaging modalities as management deems necessary.
- Able and willing to perform ultrasound invasive procedures.
- Assist with the care of the Trophon station.
- Participate in efforts to obtain accreditations.
- Actively pursue education in a rapidly evolving field.
Requirements
- Current ARDMS certification in one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to the assigned modality.
- Knowledgeable in the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
- Able to assess patient data and interpret information to identify needs and provide appropriate care.
- Willingness to learn additional imaging modalities as management sees fit.
Qualifications
- Experience in performing diagnostic medical sonography.
- Ability to maintain neatness of work area and paperwork.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Professional judgement in performing procedures.
- Knowledge of patient care and assessment.
- Ability to work under stress and adapt to new tasks.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education.
