About the role

We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in White Plains, NY. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $52 to $61 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
• Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, observing protocol requirements including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.
• Produce good technical images and assist physicians during procedures as necessary.
• Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations, order supplies, and report malfunctioning equipment.
• Work on call, holidays, overtime, and cover day, evening, and overnight shifts as needed to maintain department coverage.
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories.
• Process CDs or print pictures if needed.
• Perform routine office duties such as answering phones, checking previous reports/images, documenting patient information, and using hospital systems (Meditech, Riss, and Client’s digital x-ray system).
• Notify transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors.
• Show radiologists all images and communicate reports to attending physicians, documenting communication as necessary.
• Act as an instructor or preceptor if assigned.
• Treat all staff and patients professionally and courteously, educating patients and family members about the examination.
• Provide care based on the age, physical, and psychosocial needs of patient populations including neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups.
• Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospital.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in General Sonography (preferred).
• High School diploma required.
• Completion of a certified Ultrasound program or certificate.
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required upon hire.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to occasionally move about the department to access patients and paperwork (high proficiency).
• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (high proficiency).
• Frequently communicate with patients regarding their questions (high proficiency).
• Ability to observe and inspect employees and patients in the department (high proficiency).
• Frequently move and position patients for exams (high proficiency).
• Retain composure under stress.

Schedule
