Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound techniques and examination, including abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, adjusting technical factors as needed.
- Transports patients to and from exam rooms and tables, prepares and maintains examination areas.
- Acquires digital images and evaluates their technical quality.
- Assists physicians in diagnostic procedures and administers medications.
- Coordinates daily workflow for department activities.
- Maintains equipment in good working order and performs quality control testing.
- Contact service for repair and maintenance as necessary.
- Rotates through different areas within the department based on staffing needs and volume.
- Participates in orientation, training, and in-service sessions for staff.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Maintains inventory and restocks supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited program for diagnostic medical sonography
- At least 10 months of clinical ultrasound experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Sonography Principles & Instrumentation certificate
- Passing ARDMS exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam)
- One or more ARDMS specialty credentials (Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric, Vascular Technology)
