Job Description

A Student Ultrasound Technologist will aid with imaging exams. Will assist with ultrasound procedures at the entry level requiring knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology. Should be actively enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound program.

Minimum Training And Education

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • SCRQSA Certification required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

  • Basic Life Support required upon hire. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Possess good finger dexterity (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function (Continuous).
  • Ability to lift and carry, up to 200 feet, 50#, unassisted (Continuous).
  • Ability to lift patients and move patients to 350#(+/-), assisted (Continuous).
  • Ability to lift objects from floor level to height of 72 inches, to 50#, unassisted (Continuous).
  • Ability to lower objects, to 50#(+/-), from height of 72 inches, unassisted (Continuous).
  • Ability to push/pull objects/patients to 350#(+/-), unassisted (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected (Continuous).
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand (Continuous).
  • Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance (Continuous).
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors (Continuous).
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Continuous).
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous).
  • Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet (Continuous).
  • Must be ambidextrous (Continuous).
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Continuous).
  • Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually (Continuous).
  • Ability to use hand/power tools (Continuous).
  • Must possess excellent hand to eye coordination (Continuous).
