Summary/Objection
This role supports Health Images' South Denver and surrounding locations, performing ultrasound procedures for adult and pediatric patients. The position is a PRN (Per Request Not Scheduled) role.
About the role
The role involves assisting Radiologists during specialized exams, ensuring patient safety and comfort, maintaining equipment, and interfacing with patients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Interfaces with patients to gather medical history and provide instructions.
- Screens patients for surgical and implant-related issues, allergies, etc.
- Performs ultrasound scans, prints images, and notifies relevant parties of patient conditions.
- Aids Radiologists on specialized exams and transfers images as needed.
- Maintains and inspects equipment, reporting any quality concerns or malfunctions.
- Communicates departmental concerns to Lead Technologist and Area Manager.
Requirements
- Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound - preferred
- Ability to educate patients on procedures
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, problem-solving, and team-player
- Quick navigation of computer screens and browsers
- Fast-paced team environment experience
- Strong communication and professional demeanor
- Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
- Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
- Current state medical board license (if applicable)
- CPR/BLS certification
