About the role
The Ultrasound Diagnostic Tech position at Yavapai Regional Medical Center involves utilizing advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of various body structures, including unborn fetuses, for diagnostic purposes. The role requires direct interaction with patients, operating equipment, monitoring patients, and presenting preliminary findings to physicians.
Responsibilities
- Performs exams based on patient anatomy and habitus.
- Auxiliates Radiologists and other Physicians in the performance of exams and procedures requiring a physician.
- Performs exams in all areas of the hospital, including portables on units, portables in ED, and portables in OR.
- Prepares patients for interventional procedures.
Requirements
- High School Graduate/GED
- Less than 1 year of experience performing ultrasound in a clinical setting, either training or working.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- American Heart Association - Basic Life Support - CPR.
Preferred
- Associates Degree or higher.
Qualifications
- Excellent patient service and communication skills.
- Sharp eyesight and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills.
Skills
- Operates advanced sonographic equipment.
- Maintains patient safety and comfort during examinations.
- Selects and examines images for pathologies.
- Presents preliminary findings to Physicians.
