Ultrasonographer

Under the direction of the site-designated leader and in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs accurate and efficient ultrasound exams using appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate strong clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation. Follows Corewell Health’s philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize appropriate imaging equipment and demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
• Provide high-quality images for interpretation.
• Adhere to Patient and Family Centered Care principles.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent, graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimum experience as gained at the student level.
• Certifications (required upon hire or within specified timeframe):
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC.
• One of the following ARDMS certifications (excluding Cardiac) with 1 year of experience:
• Sonographer (S)
• Breast Sonographer (BS)
• Abdomen (AB)
• Ob/Gyn (OB)
• OR one of the following Cardiac certifications with 1 year of experience:
• Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) – ARDMS
• Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS)
• Vascular Technologist (VT) – ARDMS (required within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department).

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Rotating shift.
• 40 scheduled hours per week.
• Variable hours and days worked.
• Every other weekend required.
