UI/UX Designer

About the role

The successful candidate will design intuitive, user-centered interfaces and collaborate closely with technical teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Responsibilities

• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready UI designs
• Ensure integration with Angular-based applications
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and design reviews
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation and component libraries

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer supporting web application development projects
• Strong portfolio showcasing experience with Angular-based front-end applications
• Expertise in Figma and proficiency with other design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Axure
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles
• Proficiency with Agile development practices and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple design deliverables simultaneously
• Experience designing for federal government IT projects
• Familiarity with AWS, cloud-native application requirements, or digital service modernization
• Knowledge of UX research methodologies and usability testing practices
• Experience implementing or working with a design system in Angular applications

Qualifications

MUST BE LOCAL TO DC METRO AREA (hybrid support - 2 days in ILS HQ office, located in Fairfax, VA 22033).
