Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards.
- Gather materials for the job and ensure the crew has everything required.
- Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
- Operate construction and jobsite equipment safely; equipment includes rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, and mini excavators.
- Restock trucks with supplies ensuring crews have the proper tools and supplies to complete the job.
Requirements
- Minimum High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in utilities or construction.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Preferred: 2 or more years of experience.
- Preferred: CDL Class A driver's license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a field environment and routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Work may occur in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
