About the Role
The Fitness Sales Manager ensures a positive customer experience personally and through Coach supervision. They are responsible for delivering great member service along with Private Training and Supplement revenue. This role addresses member concerns, employee relations issues, and oversees scheduling and time-keeping activities. The Fitness Sales Manager communicates and enforces Company and Club policies and is responsible for attaining revenue goals for Private Training and Supplements. This position requires 7-day-a-week availability, including mornings and nights.
Responsibilities
- Sell and conduct Private Training and Small Group Training with members.
- Execute an effective prospecting strategy, conduct guest tours, and complete sales of staff when needed through the Turn-Over process.
- Service Intro PT packages, build value, and re-sign clients on full programs to hand off to the coaching staff.
- Prospect members in person and digitally to generate complimentary appointments for selling personal training programs.
- Ensure accurate administration of client programs, supplement purchases, measurement tracking, and workout programs.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and attentive for training appointments.
- Assist in all revenue-generating activities, including complimentary workouts, supplement booths, body fat tables, seminars, and workshops.
- Achieve monthly revenue objectives for Private Training and Supplements.
- Review daily club sales performance and individual employee performance statistics with the Fitness Manager, Vice President, and staff to identify issues and clarify behaviors needed to achieve club sales goals.
- Administer company policies as they relate to the sales process.
- Independently schedule and manage client appointments to ensure optimal time management and service delivery.
- Coordinate directly with clients to arrange sessions, meetings, or service visits according to their availability and needs.
- Maintain up-to-date scheduling records and make adjustments to accommodate changes or cancellations.
- Work with the Fitness Manager to ensure coaches are productive and that revenue and service goals are properly communicated.
- Set monthly, weekly, and daily goals consistent with or above Company goals.
- Conduct monthly, weekly, and daily meetings with coaches to review performance and operations, offering direction and motivation.
- Handle member service matters, such as providing club tours, explaining services, and signing members up for training agreements and appointments.
- Mediate member issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner, escalating when appropriate.
- Perform various administrative and housekeeping duties within assigned areas as needed.
- Alert the Operations staff of repairs and maintenance needs in the club.
- Conduct daily facility walk-throughs.
- Supervise coach sales activities, review agreements, and prepare daily paperwork.
- Comply with operational procedures in the club and follow up with compliance checks.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design and sales.
- Ability to operate and adjust all fitness equipment.
- Knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to respond professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic record-keeping skills and procedures.
- Computer proficiency with basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Adhere to meal and rest break periods, and clock in and out for all shift times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four-year degree in a related field recognized by UFC Gym (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Experience in management/employee relations (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand.
- Physical effort required for daily duties includes lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ lbs.
