UCR Full-Time Lecturer In Spanish (AY 26-27)
About the role
The Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer in Spanish Language Teaching for the 2026–27 academic year. The successful candidate will join our coordinated Spanish language program and teach primarily lower-division Spanish language courses. The teaching assignment consists of eight courses across UCR's three academic quarters.
Qualifications
- Must hold an M.A. or higher in Spanish or a related field by the time of appointment
- Ph.D. or ABD preferred
- Preparation and experience in areas such as Spanish language teaching, second language acquisition, applied linguistics, and language pedagogy are especially relevant

- Student-centered and collaborative instructor
- Strong commitment to communicative language teaching
- Teaching that engages students in meaningful and relevant language use, encourages interaction and communication, and thoughtfully incorporates educational technology
- Interest in working within a coordinated language program and in continued growth and professional development in language teaching
