About the role

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool in Spanish to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish language, Hispanic literatures and cultures, and/or Hispanic linguistics.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish language, Hispanic literatures and cultures, and/or Hispanic linguistics.
  • Teach 400- and 500-level courses with a Ph.D. in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
  • Teach 300-level courses as a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
  • Teach lower-division language courses (100 and 200 level) with a terminal M.A. degree in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field.
  • Interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.

Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the United States of America.
  • Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
