UC-35 Cessna Citation - Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) - Andrews AFB, MD

About the Role

Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft. Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. Tasks cover avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.

Additional duties include complying with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751, ensuring aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded, and understanding computerized maintenance software. May perform aircraft recovery missions, engine runs, or taxi operations. Must obtain certification within 12 months of employment.

Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine repair feasibility and methods. Performs other qualified duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid FAA A&P Certificate (required).
• Union CBA contract provides 3 levels of A&P employment based on years of UC-35 Cessna Citation experience:
  • AM-1: Two (2) years of A&P experience required; two (2) or more years of UC-35 experience preferred.
  • AM-2: Five (5) years of UC-35 Cessna Citation hands-on A&P experience required.
  • AM-3: Ten (10) years of A&P experience and thirteen (13) years of UC-35 Cessna Citation experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to move freely within aircraft interiors, including unpressurized areas, and meet weight limits.
• Must provide own tools and toolbox; tools must be etched with mechanic PID and toolbox shadowed.
• Willingness to work any shift and/or days/hours as assigned under the Union CBA, including rotating shifts.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and facility credentials.
• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance and facility access.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical examination for engine runs, ground taxi, or operations within ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette (BMI under 40 required).
• Compliance with FAR 65.83 recent experience requirements.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Physical ability to stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $46.68 to $54.45, based on years of experience per the Union CBA contract. Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market alignment. CBA rate range: $52.27 - $60.66.
