About the role

The production operator contributes to all phases of the production process, including operating automated equipment, diagnosing machinery failures, aiding preventative maintenance, and ensuring sanitation. Operators make production decisions, rotate job assignments, and maintain a safe work environment. This position requires competency in activities affecting product safety, legality, and quality.

Responsibilities

Operators may be assigned to various roles, including:

• Scaler/Divider Operator
  • Checks and maintains production schedule
  • Scales ingredients and loads, operates, and unloads mixers
  • Operates dough pump and checks scaling weights/equipment standards
  • Adjusts and operates one-pocket and six-pocket dividers, rounder, and overhead proofer
  • Performs start-up/shut-down sanitation and preventative maintenance
  • Ensures work area is clean and organized
  • Performs other duties as directed
• Wrapping Operator
  • Checks production schedule and verifies product running order
  • Checks pan count and wrap count sheets for product quantity and bag types
  • Sets and operates slicer, bagger, and tier equipment
  • Performs quality control inspection of finished product
  • Ensures product is loaded correctly
  • Performs start-up/shut-down sanitation and preventative maintenance
  • Ensures work area is clean and organized
  • Performs other duties as directed
• Palletizer
  • Checks production schedule and verifies product running order
  • Ensures the proper program is running
  • Checks pallets, slip sheets, and quantities
  • Performs start-up/shut-down sanitation and preventative maintenance
  • Ensures work area is clean and organized
  • Performs other duties as directed
• Similar responsibilities apply for Roll Line Operator, Board Monitor, and Retard Box Monitor roles.
• All employees are responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of every function and product.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency

Qualifications

• Two years of related bakery or production experience (preferred)
