About the role

The Set Up Operator position at Stanley Black & Decker's Shelbyville Manufacturing facility is available for the 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:30am). This role requires operating, changing over, adjusting, troubleshooting, and cleaning machines and equipment as needed, while maintaining proper flow of product to meet service level goals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, change over, adjust, troubleshoot, and clean machines and equipment as needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates, exemplifying 6S principles
  • Ensure all products meet specifications, maintain quality standards of product following quality assurance on FPI
  • Properly fill out all documentation and labels
  • Properly handle all scrap, rework, and mixed product
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to use and operate basic tools, equipment & gages
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and standard work instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds
  • Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend instructions for safety and quality
  • Flexibility to work overtime
