About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Logistics Inventory and Control Coordinator B to support its organization in Baltimore, MD. This position compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. The role involves requisitioning supplies, verifying received materials, processing administrative receipts, pulling materials from bins, consolidating outbound materials, performing bin checks, and assisting in shelf-life processes.

Responsibilities

  • Compile records of material quantity, cost, and type received, in stock, or issued.
  • Requisition needed supplies and verify received materials for irregularities.
  • Process administrative receipts and pull materials from bins, adhering to special handling requirements.
  • Consolidate and verify all outbound material for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Perform bin checks to validate inventory counts and assist in shelf-life processes.
  • Coordinate with lab personnel to ensure adherence to requirements and maintain communication across departments and vendors.
  • Identify areas of process improvement with a focus on digital transformation.
  • Dock management: loading and unloading material, including proper handling of sensitive electronic components, hazardous material, secured and classified material.
  • Receiving: Verify packing slip against purchase order, process receipt transactions, sort and stage material, maintain storage conditions, and perform de-trashing or repackaging.
  • Put-Away / Re-induction: Bin materials based on special handling requirements, size, and current inventory; perform systematic transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Picking: Pull material from designated locations, repackage and transfer material while maintaining special handling requirements, and perform system transactions for accurate tracking.
  • Consolidating: Audit pulled material for part marking, part number, batch validation, quantity, and packaging; troubleshoot and resolve issues; ensure all material is accounted for.
  • Inventory Management: Perform DCMA cycle-counts, troubleshoot and resolve inventory discrepancies, manage bin locations, and assist in optimizing inventory for customer requirements.
  • Order Management: Convert planned orders, create kits, request labels, maintain production orders, and release orders to manufacturing.

  • Forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts
  • Precision parts counting scale, x-ray parts counter, and other electronic manufacturing equipment
  • Temperature control equipment for temperature-sensitive material
  • Storage and retrieval systems (e.g., VLM, Autostores)
  • Measuring tapes, heat and vacuum sealers
  • CADSTAR, MPLM software

Requirements

  • Associate degree; or, 60 credit hours (including at least 9 credit hours in Math, Science, and/or IT courses) and three years’ experience in Inventory Management, Production Control, and/or Receiving in a warehouse/manufacturing environment; or, six years’ experience in Inventory Management, Production Control, and/or Receiving in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • MRP/ERP business experience (SAP preferred).
  • Three years’ experience in Inventory Management, Production Control, and/or Receiving in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Must acquire a globally recognized ASCM Warehouse Certificate or ASCM Certification (either CPIM or CSCP) within twelve months of employment.

This is a 2nd Shift, SEA Union represented position.
