Introduction
The United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office, District of Arizona, seeks undergraduate and graduate students for non-paid internships. These internships aim to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of probation and pretrial services, enhancing their understanding of the federal criminal justice system.
Representative Duties
- Assisting officers with verification of background information for individuals charged with or convicted of federal offenses.
- Verifying employment and sources of income.
- Compiling and entering information into database systems.
- Preparing, proofreading, and processing reports and official documents.
- Observing court hearings and officer meetings with individuals under supervision.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Student enrolled in an accredited college or university with at least a 2.5 GPA, senior or junior status in a bachelor’s curriculum, or enrollment in a master’s level program.
- Criminal justice, criminology, psychology, sociology, human relations, public administration, or related fields.
- Participating in an internship program with their college program.
- Physically capable, with good vision and normal hearing ability.
- Participating in an internship program with their college program.
