STATEMENT OF DUTIES

  • Introduction to all duties of a Probation Officer excluding home visits.
  • Attend a 3-day academy covering Policy/Procedures, legal report writing, and case management techniques.
  • Prepare legal documents such as Complaints, Summons/Warrants, fee waivers, extensions, and terminations.
  • Sit in on various caseloads to observe the multiple case types and populations.
  • Observe court proceedings which include subpoenas and specialty courts.
  • Afforded the opportunity to assist in the department as an essential part of the team.

Additional Comments

  • Requires a commitment of 12 hours per week and a semester-long time frame.
  • Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
