STATEMENT OF DUTIES
- Introduction to all duties of a Probation Officer excluding home visits.
- Attend a 3-day academy covering Policy/Procedures, legal report writing, and case management techniques.
- Prepare legal documents such as Complaints, Summons/Warrants, fee waivers, extensions, and terminations.
- Sit in on various caseloads to observe the multiple case types and populations.
- Observe court proceedings which include subpoenas and specialty courts.
- Afforded the opportunity to assist in the department as an essential part of the team.
Additional Comments
- Requires a commitment of 12 hours per week and a semester-long time frame.
- Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
