About the role
Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is recruiting highly experienced coating inspectors and on-site representatives in various locations including Norfolk, VA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Everett, WA; Pearl Harbor, HI; and Japan/Pacific Oceana. Candidates willing to travel or temporarily relocate to these locations may also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Mitigating corrosion control issues
- Identifying solutions
- Understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and/or C5I systems and equipment
- Using surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, and applying coating systems on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry
- Working with and understanding constraints associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance
- Interfacing with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities
- Managing and overseeing corrosion control work
- Interacting with US Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, and program leadership
- Providing corrosion prevention and control trade support
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One of the following: related military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience
- Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level III with peer review) or Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level II) certification, with a willingness/ability to obtain Senior Certified Coatings Inspector level
Qualifications
- Approximately 8-10 years of desired experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and/or submarine maintenance
Skills
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth vision, ability to adjust focus
- Work from a ladder or lift occasionally
- Safely lift 20 pounds
- Walk on uneven ground or terrain
- Work in confined spaces
- Crawl for extended periods of time
- Enter 24” diameter space
- Hearing
- Work outside (including inclement weather)
- Manual dexterity (to handle small objects, instruments, or gauges)
- Wear a respirator
- Speaking and smelling

Hourly rate is based on experience and certifications. Salary range: $40.00-$60.00/hour.
