U.S. Navy Coating Inspectors
About the role
Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is recruiting highly experienced coating inspectors and on-site representatives in various locations including Norfolk, VA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Everett, WA; Pearl Harbor, HI; and Japan/Pacific Oceana. Candidates willing to travel or temporarily relocate to these locations may also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with field investigations of corrosion phenomena
- Research and test materials
- Develop training materials
- Develop specifications
- Support U.S. Navy ship and submarine maintenance
- Mitigate corrosion control issues
- Identify solutions
- Understand technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and/or C5I systems and equipment
- Use surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, and apply coating systems on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry
- Work with and understand constraints associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance
- Implement new corrosion control technologies
- Manage and oversee corrosion control work
- Interface with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities
- Work with US Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, and program leadership
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One of the following: related military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience
- Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level III with peer review) or Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level II)
Desired Experience
(Approximately 8-10 years): Experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and/or submarine maintenance, including: mitigating corrosion control issues, identifying solutions, and understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and/or C5I systems and equipment; use of surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques and application of coating systems on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry; and/or working with and understanding constraints associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance; experience with new corrosion control technologies and how they may be implemented on U.S. Navy ships; supervisory experience managing and overseeing corrosion control work; interfacing with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities; and working with US Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, and program leadership.

Salary Range
$40.00-$60.00/hour. Hourly rate is based on experience and certifications. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and hold a valid driver's license.
