About the role
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) seeks a Customer Service Representative III to join our team. This position is available to work on-site at 4000 Jackson Avenue, Austin, Texas 78731.
Responsibilities
- Retrieves title and registration information from master files or databases and verifies against applications, forms, and original documents.
- Researches and analyzes manuals, regulations, and laws to ensure compliance with established procedures and resolves problems.
- Handles confidential and sensitive information, including correspondence and communications regarding compliance with DPPA.
- Produces title history using FileNet Document Imaging System and microfilm to fulfill internal/external customer orders.
- Locates and corrects sources of errors within the data unit.
- Approves/disapproves requests for title histories and requests for microfilm and microfiche documentation of vehicle title and registration information; notifies applicants of decisions.
- Custodians records for the TxDMV to certify vehicle title and registration documents for court purposes.
- Inputs and maintains daily production reports and compiles monthly reports for manager.
- Answers multi-line telephones, routes messages, and responds to telephone inquiries.
- Processes requests to assist Headquarters and Regional Service Center staff.
- Maintains a productive working relationship with coworkers, management, and customers.
- Provides internal and external customer service through oral and written communication.
- Travels up to 5% of the time, including overnight travel, and works extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in a high-volume customer service, data entry/management, or general office administration environment.
Qualifications
- A valid Class "C" driver's license is required.
- If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Texas Motor Vehicle Laws and Regulations.

Pay
Salary range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Schedule
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
