Two-Year Hub Manager, Emerging Issues
We seek a dynamic, motivated and organized Hub Manager to join Earthjustice’s Clean Energy Program, directly supporting the Director of Emerging Issues and staff across the organization who are engaging in issues of load growth. Earthjustice is the nation’s leading environmental law organization, wielding the power of law to take on critical fights—protecting biodiversity, averting climate disaster through clean energy, and safeguarding the right to a healthy environment. Founded in 1971, Earthjustice has a distinguished track record of achieving lasting environmental protections through litigation and advocacy.
The Clean Energy Program comprises over 50 attorneys and professional staff nationwide, litigating and advocating for an equitable clean energy transition—expanding clean energy access, closing coal plants, opposing new gas plants, and cleaning up coal waste.
About the role
This term-limited (two-year) position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. The Hub Manager will work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) hybrid schedule with a minimum of one day per week in the New York office.
Responsibilities
- Operational Improvements and Project Coordination – 40%
- Coordinate with the Director of Emerging Issues and core staff on load growth initiatives to ensure deadlines, deliverables, and outcomes are met.
- Support legal and non-legal staff across Earthjustice offices connected to this work.
- Map workflows, identify bottlenecks, establish shared work plans, measure progress, and communicate objectives and key results to maximize effectiveness and alignment.
- Manage day-to-day group functioning, set agendas, design processes, run meetings, and ensure informed, transparent, and timely decision-making.
- Serve as the point of contact for scheduling working group meetings, events, and video/conference calls.
- Assess and refine operational systems to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and adherence to organizational standards.
- Collaboration, Communications and Change Management – 40%
- Maintain and improve internal communications spaces and resource-sharing platforms to foster collaboration.
- Ensure clear, timely communication with internal stakeholders across Earthjustice.
- Develop concise project communications for legal and non-legal staff.
- Demonstrate adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances and strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Show awareness and sensitivity to the needs of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of direct experience managing projects and/or operations for teams.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in operations and administration, including streamlining processes and implementing new systems.
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple complex tasks under time pressure and unexpected challenges.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- High level of emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with project management, communications tools, and traditional legal office software; ability to learn new technologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification a plus.

Pay
Salary depends on experience and location. Salary in New York City: $113,000–$125,500.
