Two (2) District Maintenance Workers - Electrical or HVAC Certification Required

Rockaway Township School District is seeking a full-time, tenure-track maintenance professional.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks to keep school buildings and grounds in orderly, neat, and clean condition, including:
  • Clearing and disposing of trash
  • Cleaning bathrooms and floors
  • Washing windows
  • Dusting furniture and fixtures
  • Mowing grass
• Maintain buildings and grounds in safe and operable condition, including:
  • Making minor repairs to property
  • Clearing snow and ice
  • Repairing sidewalks and concrete walls
  • Cutting trees and mowing lawns
  • Performing sheetrocking and general carpentry tasks
• Inspect equipment and facilities; recommend repair or replacement action to supervisor
• Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate seasonal temperatures and ensure economical use of fuel, water, and electricity
• Check all building entrances/exits to ensure proper functionality
• Open and close buildings, ensuring all doors and windows are securely locked
• Maintain motors and other mechanical equipment, ensuring scheduled servicing
• Obtain equipment, tools, and materials required for assigned work
• Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, and fuel; place orders as needed
• Prepare and maintain records to document work and repairs
• Perform snow removal
• Complete additional tasks as requested, including extra hours during emergencies

Requirements

• Must have a Black Seal Boiler License or be willing and available to obtain one
• Certification in HVAC or Electrical
• Experience in sheetrocking and general carpentry
• Must be a team player
• Must reside in the State of New Jersey (unless exempted under law; one-year relocation period allowed for new hires)

Pay

Salary ranges from $49,452.00 to $66,782.00 per negotiated contract (p. 66).

Schedule

Full-time, tenure-track position. Additional hours may be required during emergencies.
