About the role

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts seeks an experienced Auditor to conduct financial audits and investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial audits and investigations to ensure compliance with state laws and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex issues related to fiscal management and public policy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in auditing or related fields.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws governing government operations and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL or similar.
  • Knowledge of government contracting and procurement processes.
