Tutor Non-Certified, Arabic (Part Time)

About the role

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) seeks a tutor to assist in the Arabic language program. The ideal candidate should be a native or near-native speaker of Arabic, familiar with Arabic culture, and possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Arabic language courses, including 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020, and other relevant courses.
• Integrate textbook materials and assignments into lessons.
• Identify and tailor instruction to meet individual student needs and learning levels.
• Communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Work with students during class times to gain familiarity with course materials and teaching methods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in English and the language you will be tutoring.
• Availability to attend SLCC classes in the target language.

Skills & Abilities

• Near-native fluency in Arabic.
• Familiarity with Arabic culture.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliability, timeliness, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.

Qualifications

• Current student of SLCC.
• Language teaching or tutoring experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the language you will be tutoring.
• Availability to attend SLCC classes in the target language.
