Tutor I- Math & Sciences (Westside, ATC & Rio Rancho Campuses)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to students in reviewing course material and solving problems.
• Organizes and conducts workshops and study groups for students.
• Carries out marketing activities like class visits and new student orientations.
• Serves as a bridge between students and faculty.
• Guides students in choosing and utilizing resources to meet their educational needs.
• Maintains a weekly schedule of available tutoring hours.
• Manages and maintains instructional materials relevant to the tutoring role.
• Collects and analyzes data related to tutoring services.
• Participates in required tutor training sessions.
• Supervises and assists in the recruitment, screening, hiring, orienting, mentoring, and retention of new peer and volunteer tutors.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of at least 30 hours of postsecondary coursework, including a minimum of 9 hours in the specific discipline, with grades of B or better.

Preferences

• Proficiency in various Science courses (Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Micro Biology, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Physics).
• Expertise in higher-level Math and Science courses, or a commitment to enrolling in these courses.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
