Academic Tutor Science/Math

About the role

The Learning Center at Oaks Christian School offers a flexible schedule with both in-person and remote hours available. This position is non-exempt and classified as part-time during the academic school year.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in various levels of Math and Science
• Offer one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions
• Conduct workshops and review sessions
• Communicate effectively with parents
• Maintain a professional learning environment
• Train students on executive function skills such as organizational skills, planning, time management, and efficient study skills
• Ensure students are accountable for turning in assignments consistently and on time
• May be required to work some weekends prior to final exams

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Highly motivated individuals with experience teaching college-level math and/or science
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a group and independently
• Flexibility and adaptability are essential
• Outstanding Christian role models committed to helping middle and high school students achieve their best
