Tutor, 2026-27 School Year

This is a posting for individuals interested in tutoring Pittsburgh Public Schools' students. Tutors will work with students and classroom teachers in a multi-age/multi-grade classroom setting.

Schedule

10 months

Responsibilities

• Work with students and classroom teacher in a multi-age/multi-grade classroom setting
• Assist classroom teacher with day-to-day classroom functions
• Assist students with reading, writing, and math skills
• Work closely with teachers to coordinate instructional strategies
• Assist in planning, preparing, and developing various lessons as directed
• Assist with parental contact
• Assist with individual goal setting and measurement
• Responsible for lunch and recess duty
• Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school's goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
• Must live within the territorial boundaries of the School District of Pittsburgh; residency must be established within three calendar months of hire date

Skills

• Preferred: previous work experience
• Computer competency
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
