About the role

The role of Machine Operator involves operating CNC lathe and/or milling machines, loading and inspecting parts, changing offsets and tooling, completing production forms, and performing daily preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Check specs, load/unload production lines.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as pre-set gauges to verify quality of production.
  • Perform visual inspection of parts.
  • Make necessary offsets.
  • Change/adjust production tooling.
  • Complete forms recording production results.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance, remove and dispose of chips/shavings, replenish fluids/lubricants.
  • Comply with ISO 16949 & 14001 requirements, safety regulations, and maintain clean and orderly work areas through 5S cleaning responsibilities.
  • Read job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; demonstrated ability to add and subtract decimals with high degree of accuracy.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated or robotic equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret piece part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality and offset changes.
  • Experience in machining and using measuring tools such as drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, fixture related pin gauges.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple production lines, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.
  • Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance, work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Pay

The starting wage is $19.00 per hour. A 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour and a 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour may apply, based on the actual base pay offered to the successful candidate.

Schedule

The position requires a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required. The pace of work is steady and fast.
