About the role
Sets up and operates various turning machines performing a wide range of machining operations on experimental, tooling, and production parts. Performs routine work on all types of materials and may perform any operation within the capability of the machine. Selects speeds and feeds, devises tooling, and performs layout for varying conditions and materials using a variety of attachments. This is a developmental position with a maximum duration of two (2) years.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional, NC, and CNC turning machines
- Perform machining operations on experimental, tooling, and production parts
- Work with a variety of materials and attachments
- Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling for different conditions
- Perform layout tasks using precision measuring instruments

- Machinists’ hand tools
- Precision measuring instruments
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience performing the described work, or equivalent technical education
- U.S. citizenship (required for ITAR/EAR compliance and access to classified information)
This position requires handling information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
