About the role
Maintain high-quality machining operations by setting up and operating CNC lathes, managing tooling, interpreting blueprints, and adjusting programs as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture parts according to specifications.
- Manage tooling life, adjust offsets, and modify programs as needed.
- Interpret blueprints and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Set up fixturing, cutting tools, and support equipment for machining.
- Apply cutting tools, calculate feeds, speeds, and depths of cut, and read CNC G-code.
- Use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other quality control devices to adjust program and tool parameters.
- Maintain machine preventive maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years' experience setting up CNC lathe machines.
- Experience editing CNC machine programs and writing basic programs.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
