About the role
The CNC Lathe Machinist supports Applied Medical’s manufacturing operations by producing high precision turned components used in medical device manufacturing. This role contributes directly to product quality, dimensional accuracy, and production efficiency by machining components on CNC lathe equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Machine components on CNC lathe equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, routing sheets, and machining instructions.
- Change cutting tools and perform offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and machining consistency.
- Review blueprints, routing sheets, and supporting documentation to confirm machining requirements and process accuracy.
- Interpret blueprint dimensions and tolerances to ensure components meet engineering and quality requirements.
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring tools to verify conformance throughout the machining process.
- Follow machining instructions, work rules, and safety guidelines while maintaining compliance with quality system requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve machining issues and support continuous improvement.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining Applied Medical’s high standards for quality, safety, and documentation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience operating CNC lathe equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Three or more years of work experience related to CNC lathe machining.
- Proven ability to interpret blueprint dimensions and apply tolerance requirements.
- Experience using precision measuring tools for in process and final inspection.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English for effective communication and documentation.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds as required for tooling and material handling.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Preferred
- Experience in Mill turn manufacturing environments.
- Background in medical device manufacturing or other regulated production settings.
