Turkman Remote Interpreter

About the role

Certified Languages International (CLI) connects clients with world‑class interpreting services and has been operating since 1996. The contract position is 100% over‑the‑phone interpretation, serving medical, insurance, financial, utility, customer service and state court clients, among others.

Responsibilities

• Provide over‑the‑phone interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) speakers.
• Handle a high volume of calls, most of which are medical in nature.
• Log on and off via the online portal or a landline telephone as needed.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States (SSN or EIN required).
• Possess a valid Photo ID.
• Reside in the United States.
• Not reside in California, New Jersey, or New York (CLI is not currently recruiting interpreters from these states).

Qualifications

Professional interpreter experience, preferably in a rare dialect or language not currently listed on CLI’s job board.

Skills

• Strong interpreting skills and language proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
• Comfortable using online portal or telephone for logging work hours.

Pay

Interpreters are paid on a per‑minute basis for every minute spent on the phone interpreting. Payment is issued twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of the month, via direct deposit.

Schedule

As an independent contractor you determine your own hours; you can log on and off whenever you choose using the CLI portal or landline.
