Job Summary

Certified Languages International (CLI) seeks telephonic interpreters who can provide interpreting services for LEP speakers. Positions are available for independent contractors working remotely.

About the Role

The role involves providing over-the-phone interpretation services for a variety of industries including medical, insurance, financial, utility companies, customer service, and state courts. Services are required 24/7 and can be provided through an online portal or landline telephone.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional interpreting services over the phone for LEP speakers
• Interpret in rare dialects or for languages not listed on CLI's job board
• Service all industries including medical, insurance, financial, utility companies, customer service, and state courts
• Interpret 24/7 through CLI's online portal or landline telephone
• Must be able to work legally in the United States with valid SSN or EIN and photo ID
• Must reside in the United States

Requirements

• Must be able to work legally in the United States with valid SSN or EIN and photo ID
• Must reside in the United States
• Interpreting experience is preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Proficiency in a rare dialect or language not listed on CLI's job board
• Experience in over-the-phone interpretation

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Knowledge of relevant industries and terminology

Pay

Payment is on a per-minute basis and interpreters are paid for every minute spent on the phone interpreting.
