Turf & Utility Service Technician

About the role

Bucklin Tractor & Implement Co. (BTI) is seeking a Turf & Utility Service Technician to join their team in Great Bend. This position works on turf and utility equipment, completes necessary paperwork, maintains excellent customer service, and ensures a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Properly diagnose and repair mechanical problems on turf and utility equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment/components as needed.
• Document work done in detail on segments and work orders.
• Turn in documentation in a timely manner.
• Handle customer issues objectively and tactfully.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Participate in John Deere training courses and other continuing education classes.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing mechanical service repairs.
• Ag Tech Graduate or 2 years of John Deere experience preferred.
• Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in turf and utility equipment repair.
• Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
• Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, with an Associates degree preferred.
• Valid drivers license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Associates degree preferred.

Skills

• Basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment.
• Following Technical Manual procedures.
• Operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Use Service Advisor and perform basic computer functions.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
