Responsibilities

• Perform duties necessary to maintain an attractive and safe environment throughout campus
• Assist with turf maintenance, as needed, including trimming on banks and natural areas
• Affirmative action statement: Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity
• Possess the ability to use mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides with guidance from the Turf Crew Leader
• Properly maintain power equipment and hand tools, with the supervision of the Mechanic
• Keep shrub and flower beds clean, weeded, edged, and mulched
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

Requirements

• High School GED equivalent is preferred
• Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity
• Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• Previous experience with zero turn mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, leaf removal, and bed edging not required, but strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $20.00 - $21.50 per hour, based on background and experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
