About the position
The Adjunct Applied Tuba Professor will teach individualized lessons, starting August 24, 2026 and will co-direct the George Mason University Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. Responsibilities include:
- Teach applied tuba during daytime hours on campus;
- Co-direct the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble;
- Assist with recruitment for the Tuba Studio;
- Participate in Brass Area initiatives, including performances, faculty recitals, auditions, and juries.
Required qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Music required;
- Successful experience teaching at the college level;
- Demonstrated experience working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds;
- Have an established reputation as a professional artist with a documented portfolio of live performances.
Preferred qualifications
- Doctorate in Music.
