Trust and Estate Tax Supervisor
Job Description
Withum’s Tax Services Group is comprised of tax specialists who ensure accurate and timely tax reporting while minimizing or deferring tax payments. They provide comprehensive tax strategies across international, US federal, state, and local regulations, including working with HLB international. Their services cover Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, and International and Private Client services. You will lead audit engagements, supervise staff, and build client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Review complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns, including related schedules and forms
- Review fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts
- Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients for estate and individual income taxes
- Research and consult on various estate, gift, and trust-related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, Crummey obligations, and generation skipping tax issues
- Identify additional estate and income tax planning opportunities for clients
- Manage, coach, and mentor staff, seniors, and supervisors
- Research and draft memoranda involving complex tax matters
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities
- Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on evaluations and provide counsel
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferably a Master's of Science in Taxation
- CPA License (preferred)
- At least 4 years of public accounting experience
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Benefits
