Trust and Estate Tax Manager

About the role

Brickley DeLong is a full-service, West-Michigan based public accounting and business consulting firm with offices in Muskegon, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, and Hart. This position can be located out of any office. We are seeking a Tax Manager who specializes in Trust and Estate planning to join our growing team.

The role requires working closely with trustees, personal representatives, and attorneys to gather information needed to prepare trust income tax returns and estate tax returns. It also involves managing a broad range of business and individual filings. The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and a deep understanding of unique financial situations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance for client engagements, including preparation and technical review of corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and estate tax returns
• Identifies tax planning calculations and assists with tax research and planning
• Researches and consults on complex tax matters
• Completes trust and estate planning
• Assists the firm in process improvement and best practices
• Manages and supervises multiple client engagements

Requirements

• Extensive experience working with trust income tax returns and estate tax returns
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong client relationships
• Ability to commute or relocate to one of the following offices before starting work: Grand Rapids, MI; Muskegon, MI; or Grand Haven, MI
• 8+ years of accounting experience (preferred)
• 8+ years of tax experience (preferred)
• CPA License (Required)
