About the role

The Truckload Account Manager fosters strong customer and carrier relationships and manages a variety of clients within the logistics and supply chain industry. This individual manages client engagement, monitors day-to-day activities, and cultivates business relationships to encourage growth within existing accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the needs of full truckload clients within the logistics and supply chain industry
  • Maintain strong relationships within client organizations at the decision-maker and end-user levels; present a consistent company image and build high levels of client satisfaction
  • Develop SOPs, KPIs, and other measurements while onboarding new customers; ensure these metrics are met and regularly reported for existing customers
  • Manage the contract renewal process
  • Support day-to-day operations
  • Conduct annual account reviews
  • Promote account penetration by pursuing sales growth opportunities with current customers within other departments
  • Nurture prospect relationships over extended sales cycles
  • Manage the negotiation and closing processes for each unique contract
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
  • Maintain current understanding of applicable requirements and laws

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience within the transportation logistics industry

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time. The employee occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The general level of physical activity is sedentary. The employee regularly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, telephone, copy machine, printer). Some movements of the hands, arms, and wrists may involve repetitive motions. Specific vision abilities required include detecting, determining, perceiving, identifying, recognizing, judging, observing, inspecting, estimating, and assessing various activities and surroundings.
  • Cognitive/Mental Requirements: The employee is regularly required to comprehend and use basic language (written or spoken) to communicate simple and complex information, ideas, and details. The employee must use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information, and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations. Problem-solving skills are required to formulate and apply appropriate courses of action for routine or familiar situations. The employee may perform numerical operations including basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, or more complex quantitative calculations.
  • Work Environment: The employee works inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building with minimal noise levels.
