About the role
This position will be integral to the daily management of shop activities and fleet maintenance for the Ste. Genevieve, MO and Ghent, KY MLC trucking locations.
Responsibilities
- Leading MLC Trucking maintenance facilities, overseeing preventative maintenance activities, tracking costs in EAM, and minimizing equipment downtime while focusing on improving CSA vehicle maintenance scores.
- Maintain accurate and precise records of repair orders in EAM for each piece of equipment.
- Forecast and generate PM work orders in EAM fleet maintenance program.
- Maintain accurate and precise records of repair orders in EAM for each piece of equipment.
- Maintain overall fleet equipment database for all locations and ensure accurate data contained including unit #’s, VIN #s, make, model, year, terminal, license plate, year acquired, date license expires, etc.
- Forecast and generate PM work orders in EAM fleet maintenance program
- Manages department maintenance priorities by utilizing the EAM fleet maintenance program.
- Ensures proper EAM work order system utilization during execution and closeout of jobs (work history documentation).
- Ensures preventative maintenance tasks are performed in a quality and timely fashion.
- Evaluates alternative equipment manufacturer or alternate supplier of frequently replaced parts.
- Generates purchase requisitions for contracted repairs, spare parts, and services conducted in the shop.
- Covers equipment transfers to outside shops and contractors when necessary.
- Responsible for preparation of safety reports required for internal use and OSHA reporting.
- Coordinates with management and dispatchers to service and repair equipment while ensuring faulty equipment is placed out of service until repairs are complete.

- Responsible for scheduling call-out coverage on off shifts including weekends and holidays. Must be able to be on call periodically.
- Responsible for resolving employee issues through problem resolution.

Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 plus years’ relevant experience required. A minimum of two years of direct work experience with over the road fleet of more than 50 tractors.
- Solid knowledge of DOT standards and FMCSA principle required.
- Maintenance and electrical skills required.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to plan over a specific time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- An ability to manage multiple priorities and assuming assigned work in other jobs in the event of employee absences, work fluctuations, or emergency situations.
- Valid Driver’s License required, Class A CDL preferred.
