Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor at Atlas Roof Shingles, Underlayments & Ventilation, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, is responsible for overseeing all maintenance processes and ensuring plant areas are maintained efficiently, safely, and reliably. Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing proper and efficient use of maintenance personnel and machinery, including proper training.
- Supervising maintenance and still-yard employees and activities, assisting employees in their work.
- Ensuring proper job sequence and setup of work.
- Verifying accuracy of work performed and time allocated.
- Assigning and maintaining workflow in compliance with production schedules.
- Cookordination activities with related departments.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Preparing and maintaining reports and records.
- Promoting and enforcing compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Driving continuous improvement in safety, communicating a zero-injury culture and housekeeping performance.
- Overseeing safe still-yard operations and ensuring equipment inspections, testing, and safety systems comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Ensuring contractor compliance with safe work practices.
- Conducting daily workplace safety inspections and supporting root cause problem-solving efforts.
- Managing staffing coverage for absences, vacations, shutdowns, and adverse weather events.
- Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to support production goals and objectives.
- Maintaining operational reports and records.
- Coordination purchasing required materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensuring yard operations comply with corporate, local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Overseeing wastewater discharge and waste oil management activities.
- Performing routine inspections of silo areas and equipment.
- Coinciding maintenance activities and supporting Quality Department initiatives as needed.
- Maintaining knowledge of steam production, fluid systems, pumps, valves, and standard still-yard maintenance practices.
- Maintaining accurate FIFO inventory management for all materials.
- Monitoring coating temperatures during operations and downtime in accordance with supplier specifications.
Experience
- 2- year apprenticeship or related field preferred.
- 3 years supervisory experience required.
- Industry and manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience working within CMMS (computer management maintenance systems).
- Experience with asset management to include vibration and thermography.
- Experience in root cause analysis.

Education, Licenses & Certifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
