Trucking Insurance Agent

About the role

This is a remote 1099 independent contractor position focused on commercial trucking insurance. You will manage prospective and existing clients, meet and exceed sales goals, and handle accounts until they generate enough revenue to assign an Account Manager for service, claims, and renewals. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, build and maintain relationships, and work with carriers to market and negotiate renewals. You will also keep the agency management system updated with client and carrier interactions, as well as policy information.

Compensation includes commission (50% new, 50% renewal), profit sharing*, and bonuses* based on specific guidelines and goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the needs of prospective and existing commercial trucking clients.
• Meet and exceed sales goals set by the agency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing customer inquiries.
• Build and maintain client and carrier relationships through professional communication.
• Market and negotiate renewals with carriers.
• Document all client and carrier contact in the agency management system.
• Update policy information according to agency procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Property & Casualty License.
• At least 1 year of experience in Trucking Insurance, preferably in an independent agency setting.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and time management skills.
• Background in risk management and/or sales is a plus.
• Strong negotiation skills and proven sales results.
