Trucking Associate Attorney
About the role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our Trucking team in Tampa, Florida. As an Associate, you will work and learn alongside world-class Trial Attorneys providing support before, during, and after trials. Trucking cases are among the highest-value cases in our firm, offering the opportunity to work on cases that make a profound, positive impact on clients' lives while being part of an extremely lucrative practice group.
You will carry some of your own cases while supporting Trial Lawyers on their cases in litigation, gaining the experience needed to develop into a polished, well-rounded Litigation and Trial Lawyer.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day handling of mostly trucking litigation cases
- Drafting and filing of litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memoranda
- Guide clients through the case process and maintain client relationships
- Interaction with expert witnesses, including conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
- Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
- Work closely with Litigation Paralegals and Case Managers
Requirements
- Law degree from a fully accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the Florida State Bar Association
- 1+ years of Litigation experience (preferred); Trucking Accident experience a plus but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong interest in Personal Injury Law and Trial work
- Self-starter driven by long-term career goals
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
